2. What’s Covered. If AlerTrax determines a Device has a covered manufacturing defect, AlerTrax will, at its option, repair or replace the Device with a new or refurbished unit at no charge for parts and labor.
3. What’s Not Covered (Examples). This Warranty does not cover damage or failures caused by :

   (a) misuse, abuse, neglect, improper installation, or operation outside published specifications;

   (b) impact, crushing, puncture, cuts, or other physical damage;

   (c) water or chemical exposure beyond stated ratings;

   (d) unauthorized opening, modification, or repair;

   (e) use with non-AlerTrax accessories, power sources, or wiring;

   (f) cosmetic wear, normal wear and tear, or consumables;

   (g) loss, theft, vandalism, fire, flood, or other external causes;

   (h) removal or alteration of labels or serial numbers.

4. How to Make a Claim (Customer Action Required). To obtain service, you must submit a claim to AlerTrax for each individual Device and include:

   the Device serial number (or other unique identifier shown in your AlerTrax account);

   a description of the problem and when it occurs (photos/logs if available);

   return shipping information (recipient name, full address, contact email/phone).

   AlerTrax may require reasonable troubleshooting steps and/or diagnostics to verify eligibility before issuing a return merchandise authorization (RMA).

5. Shipping & Advance Replacement. For approved claims, AlerTrax will cover return shipping of the repaired/replacement Device within our service area. You are responsible for shipping the Device to AlerTrax unless otherwise stated in your RMA. Where available, an advance replacement may be offered; if so, AlerTrax may place a temporary hold or charge pending the return and inspection of the original Device.
6. Term (“Lifetime”). “Lifetime” means for as long as the original purchaser owns the Device and AlerTrax continues to support the Device model. This Warranty is non-transferable and has no cash value.
7. Exclusive Remedy; Limits. The remedies above are your exclusive remedy. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AlerTrax is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or exclusion of certain damages, so these limits may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights which vary by state.
8. Changes. AlerTrax may modify this Warranty prospectively at any time by updating these Terms; changes will not affect properly submitted, approved claims made before the effective date.
